Hello to all my followers,

I usually write nice and happy journals, as you may have noticed.

But this is NOT one of them.

At the beginning of November, I was asked by a mother of 6, who became deviant especially to contact me, to draw a portrait of her family, so her children and her could color it. She wanted to hang it in her hospital room as she is currenty battling brain cancer. And she didn't knew how long she still had. This was the result:

Family Portrait - Lineart by JadeDragonne

But she has not connected to DA since 2 weeks. So she didn't had the chance to get the lineart.

I thought she was probably too sick to access her account and that she probably didn't gave her username or password to her husband. But I also thought that there was a good chance that she did shared her main email account with him, you know, because email is the new post and many of us are receiving important things like bills, etc. this way. So I thought I had a good idea by sending a request to DA admins to ask them, not to give me any infos, but just if THEY could please send the lineart, or at least a notice, to the email account she used to become member. I titled the request: Special situation, to make sure they get that it was, well, a special situation... This was on November 21st. We are now November 28th. And my request was still not answered. I checked today to make the follow up on my request, only to see that it was STILL WAITING for ASSIGNMENT and was classified as a NORMAL priority. I wrote a new comment to them.

But to be true, I'm really deceived to see that deviantART didn't think the situation was important enough to be treated in a respectable delay and that the request is still awaiting to be assign. Today, it's been a week since I first contacted them. This show me the real heart and compassion behind deviantART and actually kind of make me ashamed to be a deviant.

So, where is deviantART' heart? I'll tell you. It's you, it's me, it's all their members that create a loving and welcoming community. It's US that make deviantART live and breathe... And love.

But from what I understand, don't look for it anywhere else around. deviantArt, Inc. does not seem to have a heart. (But they probably don't care any way)

If you don't mind me asking, have you heard anything of that mother since? I know that dA is awfully lax in these things and it's saddening
